The firm began in early 1981 when founding partners Gerald Reed and Edward Heller, began a law practice together in Murphysboro. Thomas Mansfield joined the Gerry and Ed shortly thereafter – forming Reed, Heller, and Mansfield.
With offices in Murphysboro and a Perry County location in Pinckneyville, the firm served clients throughout Southern Illinois.
When longtime Perry County State’s Attorney Gene Gross, became a partner in the firm in 1992, the practice became known as Reed, Heller, Mansfield & Gross. At this time the Perry County office was relocated to Du Quoin.
Gene Gross later left the firm in 2010 when he was appointed an Associate Judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit. In 2012 Gene’s wife Patricia Gross joined the firm.
Reed, Heller, Mansfield & Gross have four partners, four associate attorneys and a complete staff of paralegals, assistants and legal professionals.
